High School Updates 10-8-18

College Fair

Students in grades 9-12 are welcome to join Ms. Gib at this year’s National College Fair in Seattle on November 2. For details about the fair, visit their webpage. Register online here or with Ms. Gib prior to October 30. We encourage all interested students to attend but want to make sure juniors and seniors take a close look at what institutions will be represented and seriously consider attending. Transportation details will be available closer to the event.

Mobile Learning Device

Please note that all students are required to have a mobile learning device (MLD) this year.

Laptops recommended:

  • Mac OS 10.10 or higher (Chromebooks, iPads or Android Tablets are not recommended)

  • Processor: 64-bit

  • Memory: at least 4 GB (8 GB recommended)

  • Hard drive: at least 256 GB, SSD is recommended

  • Network: wireless (a,b,g, & n all supported)

Tablets are acceptable, but they will not print at school or run Adobe Flash, which is used in many aspects of our online curriculum.

Students are expected to have an MLD for school use no later than Monday, October 1. Please contact Mrs. Gibelyou with questions or concerns.

Ponders Pawnbrokers has a large variety of laptops at very affordable prices. Contact Janelle Leevey, Ponders co-owner and CCA parent, at 253-584-1686.

Dinner Auction Gift Card Drive

Monday, October 8, is the last day to turn in a gift card for the Dinner Auction. Drop off your gift cards in the office and enter the drawing by putting your name on a piece of paper and dropping it into the box. You will receive one entry for every $10 of gift cards donated!

Student winners’ names will be drawn the following week.

*You might consider using the Scrip online purchasing option. See the newsletter for more information.
