CCA Bulletin 5.28.23

Principal's Corner

For we are God’s fellow workers. You are God’s field, God’s building. 1 Corinthians 3:9

Dear Families,

As the year comes to a close, I would like to place a brief spotlight on four groups of students who provide leadership and service to our school in many different ways.

Our High School Student Council is made up of students from grades 9-12. Their job is to oversee student activities and plan dances and social events. This group consists of Stephen W., Cooper F., Juniper G., and Alyssa S. on the executive council, with Cooper S., Anna A., Malia K., Trinity M., Noah T., and Elise O. as class representatives. They have done a good job this year, and we are thankful for their leadership!

Our High School National Honor Society organized a sock drive to help children in need and provided hot lunches to our high school students on several occasions. The NHS reflects leadership, service, academic excellence, character, and faith in their work. They must maintain a GPA of 3.5. Our NHS consists of Cooper F., Chase G., Cooper S., Ben S., Jason T., Malia K., Danny M., Jason N., Alyssa S., Aline K., Lizzie P., Noah T., and Logan V. Well done, students!

Our CCA High School Ambassadors were active in special school events this year. They helped in many ways, big and small, particularly at our Vision Builders Dinner, Open House, Auction, and Concordia in Bloom – all designed to grow our school, donors, and community partners. This group consists of  Cooper F., Chase G., Alyssa S., Fiona O., Elise O., Travis C., Cooper S., Stephen W., Jason T., Juniper G., Malia K., Abigaile H., and David T. We appreciate their willingness to be servant leaders!

A new Student Council group was developed this year for grades 1-8. Representatives were voted in from each of these grades. They are: Colton B., Ephraim H., Jonah S., Yohanan M., Payton B., Eliott D., Diara D., and Alex S. The Elementary/Middle School Student Council helped to guide our chapel giving (including counting all the change from the Coin Drive) and completed a service project (Bake Sales) that completely funded new nets and backboards for our outdoor basketball hoops. For such a young group, they have shown extraordinary leadership and tenacity in accomplishing their goals.

As you can see, CCA has amazing students who are willing to go the extra mile for their school community and others. I am proud of these students and celebrate their achievements. These groups help to make our school community what it is, and we thank them all.

I am also extremely thankful for the support and partnership that we experience from you, our parents. Without you, we could not accomplish all that has been achieved this year. From the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU!

In Christ,

Sherrie Gibelyou

Thank you, families, for supporting our school and students. All proceeds will go to our Fine Arts Programs, which are so very important.

On May 21, four of our very own CCA students, 4th grader Monica K., 5th grader Payton B., and high schoolers John K. and Malia K., together with the Kjos family, participated in the 41st Annual Beat the Bridge Run to fund research for Type 1 Diabetes. They ran with a group of 4,802 participants. 1.45 million people live with Type 1 Diabetes, including our Monica. The Kjos family exceeded their goal by more than double! We stand with them in their fight to end Type 1 Diabetes!
