CCA Bulletin 4.21.24

Principal's Corner

These things I command you, so that you will love one another. John 15:17

Dear Parents,

We had a wonderful morning last Friday! Grandparents, parents, extended family, and friends spent the morning with their favorite students. We began with a parade of music and recitations from grades K-8, followed by special time and yummy treats in the classrooms. Our morning concluded with a full sanctuary of our students and honored guests singing praises to our great and awesome God. What a joy it was to see everyone!

Special thanks to Mr. Boyt and Mr. Plucknett for leading chapel with some fun songs, to our middle school worship team and AVL helpers, and to Logan T. for accompanying on the piano.

You can tell by the pictures that we all had a wonderful time. If you missed it, don’t worry–we’ll do it again next spring!

In Christ,

Sherrie Gibelyou

   You’re Invited!

The CCA staff is about to welcome TWO new babies in June! Both teacher Jessica Cofield, and Director of Advancement Samantha Hanson are expecting brand new bundles of joy! We’re excited to celebrate them with a joint baby shower on Friday, May 10, in the CCA gym. Check out the invitation for more details & information here.

The Jog-A-Thon is coming!

May 8, 1:30-3 p.m.

The CCA Jog-A-Thon is back! We are thrilled to host this event on Wednesday, May 8, from 1:30 to 3:00 p.m. on our field. The Jog-A-Thon provides funds to support our Fine Arts programs at Concordia. These programs include art and music classes for kindergarten through 5th grades, electives for 6th through 8th grades (including art, band, marimbas, choir, and drama), and other performing arts opportunities.

Meal Train Request

On Sunday, April 14, CCA Cheer Coach Monica Flores suffered a major injury while practicing a brand-new stunt with her adult cheerleading team. Monica was thrown in the air and not caught properly, resulting in a broken tibia and bones above the ankle. She will undergo surgery this week.
Monica will use a knee scooter and have regular physical therapy to walk again in the coming months. Needless to say, the family can use some help while Monica is immobilized.
Concordia mom Heather J. has put together a Meal Train Sign-Up to support the family so Monica’s husband can focus on care of their girls, students Carolina and Nayeli, and her recovery over the next few weeks. Please consider supporting the family by donating a favorite nutritious meal, Door-Dash/Uber gift card, or restaurant gift card.
Please pray for our CCA family during this difficult and life-changing time.
