You are a hiding place for me; you preserve me from trouble; you surround me with shouts of deliverance.
Psalm 32:7
Dear Families,
I have strong opinions about technology; I love it and hate it at the same time. The internet has made accessing information easy and fast, and we use it at CCA because our students need to understand how to navigate resources online. Many sites are educational and rich in content, but so many are not good—and not for children!
Technology changes so quickly that it’s tough to keep up. I look for resources to help CCA navigate these changes and keep us apprised of the dangers lurking online. One of my go-to resources is Protect Young Eyes (PYE). Established by Chris McKenna, a former CPA and youth ministry director, this organization is at the forefront of tech safety for kids. I have spoken about PYE in previous newsletters and won’t go into detail here, but I encourage you to check them out if you haven’t already done so. You will find a wealth of information and resources to help you navigate this ever-changing environment.
We are committed to doing everything possible to keep your children safe while learning online. We use software to monitor and screen activity at school, but students still sometimes manage to find ways around it. This is why it’s critical to know what is out there and how enticing some apps can be to kids.
PYE offers many ways to stay informed, including a valuable and easy-to-use mobile app. Additionally, you can join their community to stay informed or learn from various regularly updated resources. Whether you dive in deep or take a surface look, you will come away with valuable tools!
Blessings on your week,

The Glodowskis are cherished members of our Concordia family. Karena has been ill and unable to work, and she recently lost her mom. We can help them in this time of need by supplying gift cards to local restaurants so they don’t have to think about meals for a while. You can bring gift cards to school during our school hours or donate online. Thank you for helping this great family!
