Principal's Corner

Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their toil. Ecclesiastes 4:9-12

Dear Parents,

Our Hawk-tion takes place this year on March 16. During the live part of this fun event, we provide the opportunity to Make a Difference for CCA. Last year, attendees generously raised their paddles for a new covered activity area for our school. After months of wading through the permitting process, we now know that we will be able to begin the site work and building in a couple more months. We are so thankful to all those who raised their paddles to support our school in this way!

This year’s Make a Difference will truly make a difference for our school. The CCA gym is a very busy place. Built in the ’70s, it has faithfully served our K-12 students for decades, but it is now in need of repair and a facelift.

Our gym floor was originally installed and has always been maintained by Gifford Industries, who have informed us that while our subfloor is fine, repairs should be made to the original floor. This involves taking it down to bare wood, filling in gaps, and repairing and reattaching loose floorboards. After proper prepping, the floor will receive new striping, and–most exciting of all–our CCA logo will be placed in the center and the word Hawks on each end. The floor will then be refinished with several coats of varnish.

Two weeks before the floor is replaced, the bleachers will be completely refinished. The floor surfaces of the bleachers will be painted charcoal with commercial-grade paint for durability and longevity. The gym walls will be painted white, with our crimson and gray school colors as accents all the way around. New charcoal-colored safety pads will be installed around the gym perimeter to complete the makeover.

Once the work is completed, our tired gym will look and feel like a brand-new space. Can you picture it? If our Make a Difference is successful, you will be able to see it in September. God’s people can make a huge difference when they come together!

In Christ,
