CCA Bulletin 3.29.26

Principal's Corner

Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?”

John 11: 25-26

Dear Parents,

Happy Palm Sunday and welcome to Holy Week! As we look forward to Easter and the great gift Christ gave us in His death and resurrection, we remember His journey to the cross.

Palm Sunday marks the beginning of this journey. Jesus entered Jerusalem on a donkey while crowds welcomed Him by waving branches and shouting, “Hosanna to the Son of David! Blessed is he who comes in the name of Lord! Hosanna in the highest!”

Maundy Thursday commemorates the Last Supper Jesus shared with his disciples, where he established the Holy Eucharist, breaking bread and drinking wine to represent his body and blood given for humanity. The name “Maundy” comes from the Latin word mandatum (command). It refers to John 13:34, where Jesus says, “A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another.” It also serves as the transition to the final days of Holy Week, culminating in Jesus’s crucifixion on Good Friday.

On Good Friday, Jesus willingly died to pay for the sins of all humankind, bridging the gap between God and human beings. It represents the ultimate sacrifice and demonstration of God’s love for His people.

Next Sunday, we celebrate Easter! We are thankful for God’s greatest gift: the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Our students will journey through Holy Week with us at CCA. On Thursday, we will celebrate all of Holy Week and Easter in a special chapel service beginning at 2 p.m. at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. Join us if you can!

In Christ,
