Principal's Corner

Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established.

Proverbs 16:3

Dear Parents,

Happy February! We have officially entered the second semester. Most of our students should now understand the expectations around work completion. We build in many opportunities during the school day to complete classroom work. However, there will be times when homework is necessary. Here are my recommendations to help students complete work at home.

  • Establish a routine by designating a space for getting work done. It should be free of clutter or distractions.
  • Encourage your student to have a snack, some downtime, and then get to work.
  • Make sure they have all the tools needed to accomplish the task (paper, books, computer, pencil, etc.) I strongly recommend keeping computers in a high-visibility area that you can supervise.
  • Make sure that phones are not accessible or visible during work time. They are HUGE distractions!
  • Have students accomplish homework before being allowed to watch TV or game. The visual stimulation from these forms of entertainment can interfere with concentration.
  • Be on hand if help is needed, and don’t hesitate to reach out to the classroom teacher if you (or your student) have questions. They are happy to help!

We are partners with you in our students’ success. We want them to know we are working together for their good! If your K-8 student routinely comes home with more than 30 minutes to 1 hour of work, contact the classroom teacher. We rarely assign homework, so your student may need additional assistance to complete work during the school day. High school students do have homework, but it should be manageable to complete in 60-90 minutes at home.

Please call me if any concerns arise. My information is attached to every bulletin.

In Christ,

Enrollment is Now Open to Everyone!

Your student’s seat is guaranteed through the re-enrollment process. If you have not yet re-enrolled, please do so now to reserve your seat for the 2026-27 school year. Beginning this month, we will fill seats on a first-come, first-served basis until our classrooms reach capacity. Some are close to capacity now!

If you are not planning to enroll your child next year, please let Samantha Hanson know as soon as possible so we can plan accordingly. Samantha is available for any questions you have about the re-enrollment process.

Thank you for your continued partnership, and we look forward to another great year!
