Give, and it will be given to you. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you.”
Luke 6:38
Dear Parents,
Service is an integral part of life at CCA. Our students serve through a planned curriculum that deepens their understanding of how service reflects our God, who first served us in the person of Jesus Christ. CCA graduates are motivated to play an active role in society by using their God-given talents to serve others, in our immediate community and beyond.
We know the holidays can be very difficult for those whose basic needs are not being met, so we spend this time reaching out to local charities to bless others. A few examples of our recent projects:
Socktober NHS project providing 322 pairs of socks to the Tacoma Rescue Mission
Loaves and Fishes Chapel offerings providing holiday baskets to over 1200 people in our community, delivered by our high schoolers
No Sew Blankets K-8 Student Council project benefiting the homeless population served by the Lutheran Church of St. Paul in Graham
The Empty Bowls Project Donating $1000 to the Pierce County Food Network from selling hand-made high school bowls filled with homemade soups
Shop with a Cop (Mr. Johnson) and First Responder (Mr. Hollstrom) K-8 Student Council event providing Christmas gifts to children in need
Christmas Angel Tree Providing food to families and Christmas gifts to needy children at Fawcett Elementary
These opportunities do more to show Jesus to our students than anything we can say, and our students remember the gratitude from the people who receive these gifts.
We know that you, our families, are central in supporting these service projects. From the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU for your generosity!
In Christ,
Sherrie Gibelyou

This enjoyable tradition did not disappoint, combining Mr. Boyt’s famous barbecued turkey and mac & cheese with some fantastic dishes, like honey-glazed spiral ham and homemade Nanaimo bars. Our high schoolers had quite the feast!
Thanks to a grant from the Puyallup Tribe designated for a community event, CCA is working with Good Shepherd Lutheran Church to provide Christmas gifts for families from Fawcett Elementary.
An “Angel Christmas Tree” is in the entryway of the 300 and 400 buildings, where you can select a tag to purchase a gift for a student at Fawcett Elementary. Along with physical gifts for students, each family will receive a food basket. We welcome donations to this as well.
Please drop off all items, including monetary donations, in the high school or elementary school offices by Wednesday, December 10.
Take a look at all the new styles and logos to choose from and order at your convenience.
