Principal's Corner

Children are a gift from the Lord; they are a reward from him. Psalm 127:3

Dear Families,

Our Kindergarten, First, Second, and Third Graders sang their hearts out last Thursday at their Christmas program. What a joy it was to see and hear them as they proclaimed the Good News of Jesus’ birth! As you can imagine, lots of hours went into this program. I would like to thank Mrs. Hagen, our music teacher, and Miss Kamrath (K), Mrs. Rodenbeck (Grade 1), Mrs. Still (Grade 2), and Mrs. Dressler (Grade 3) for their efforts in making our program one to remember.

Enjoy the photos below!

This week we look forward to the All School Chapel we will hold on Friday, December 15, at 8:40 a.m. This is my favorite chapel of the year, as all of our grades are involved in telling the Christmas Story with special music, songs, and scripture readings done by our students. We will also enjoy two of my favorite Christmas songs:  “O Holy Night” sung by some of our teachers, and “Mary, Did You Know?” sung by some of our high school students.

Please join us for this very special chapel as we sing praises to our Lord and Savior!

Advent Blessings,

Faith in Action Update!

Last Friday, our K-8 Student Council went shopping for Christmas gifts to help those in need. Tacoma Police Officer and CCA Parent, Officer J, plus his wife and their CCA 4th graders, Audrey and Grace, accompanied our council. Pictured are Colton B. (Grade 2), Serenity R. (Grade 3), Jonah S. (Grade 4), Tabitha B. (Grade 5), and Clara H. (Grade 6). Not pictured, but also part of Student Council, are Olivia V. (Grade 7), and Diara D. (Grade 8).

Empty Bowls Fundraiser for Emergency Food Network

This fundraiser, organized by our own high school art teacher and Tacoma artisan, Mr. Scearce, was a tremendous success! Held on December 1, our high school raised $1125 for our local community. Our art students and Mr. Scearce worked hard to make many bowls for the event, and they were beautiful. Well done, CCA!
