CCA Bulletin 11.9.25

Principal's Corner

Cast your burden on the Lord, and he will sustain you;

he will never permit the righteous to be moved.

Psalm 55:22

Dear Parents,

On November 5, we hosted Christian Hall, a professional who has worked in the tech industry and now tours the country speaking about internet safety.

Christian spoke to our students in two different presentations spanning Grades 5-12. His message was sobering. as he has developed personal relationships with families who have lost their children to drugs and suicide. In each case, these young people agreed to meet up with, or exchanged information with strangers they thought they knew online.

His overall message was simple – students should never chat in social media or game with strangers, no matter how appealing they may seem. His message regarding Roblox was especially compelling. There are too many ways that predators can contact students through this platform. Roblox is currently being sued by several states across the nation because of this. Christian stressed the importance of parents always being aware of what their kids are doing online.

I am looking forward to bringing Christian back for a Parent Night next fall. In the meantime, check out Haven. This site has been developed by Christian and his partner, Ben Tracy, to help keep kids safe online.

Calling All Military Families, Past And Present!

On November 11, we commemorate Veterans Day with a day off from school. On Wednesday, November 12, we will recognize our CCA veterans and active military families in our all-school chapel beginning at 8:40 a.m.

We invite you to attend our worship on Wednesday. We will praise and thank God, honor all those who serve, and personally recognize all military families who can attend that morning.

CHEER MEETING TOMORROW!

New Basketball Program Coming To Grades 3-6!

We’re excited to announce that our school will participate in the Elementary Nisqually League Basketball Program (ENL) this season! This is a great opportunity for students to learn the game, grow in teamwork and character, and have a lot of fun representing our school.

There will be one scheduled Winter Break practice (details to follow).

Games:
Saturdays, January 10 through March 7

Held at various Puget Sound schools (e.g., Life Christian, Cascade Christian).

Angel Christmas Tree

Concordia Christian Academy received a grant from the Puyallup Tribe designated for a community event, so Concordia and Good Shepherd Lutheran Church will be working together to support a number of families from Fawcett Elementary for Christmas.

On Monday, November 24, an “Angel Christmas Tree” will be in the entryway of the 100 and 300 buildings. You can select a gift tag to purchase a gift for a student at Fawcett Elementary.  Along with physical gifts for students, each family will receive a food basket. We welcome donations to this as well.

Please drop off all items, including monetary donations, in the high school or elementary school offices by Wednesday, December 10.
