A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. John 13:34
Dear Families,
One of the things I value most at Concordia is our community. I have seen our students and families come together to support one another in all kinds of circumstances. Today, I bring to you the opportunity to help one of our families. Many of you know the Hygemas, who have four students at CCA. Abigaile is a junior, Johanna is a sophomore, and Wayne is a freshman in our high school. Claire is an 8th grader in our middle school. They have four other younger siblings at home.
Wayne and Gina are strong people of faith. They are leaning on our God to see them through a difficult period, as Wayne was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer a few weeks ago. He recently underwent surgery to remove the cancer and is now recovering at home. Wayne’s prognosis is good. The surgery removed the cancer and subsequent biopsies came back negative. Moving forward, he will need to utilize a diabetic diet, as he is currently dealing with the symptoms of type 2 diabetes.
We have put together a Meal Train for the Hygemas. Our goal is to help them with meals through the next two months. Wayne’s recovery will take time, and having meals ready to cook or warm up will support them through this time.
If you can help this family with a meal, please use this link. Please note the foods recommended for diabetes and allergies to peanuts and pineapple. We are recommending that food donations be dropped off at Concordia anytime before 3:00 p.m. Abilgaile will bring the meals home to her family from school.
Thank you for considering this need and doing whatever you can to support this wonderful family.
In Christ,
Sherrie Gibelyou

On Wednesday, November 9, CCA will host a special Veteran’s Day chapel service. In addition to worshipping our great and awesome God, we will explore different branches of the military, sing some patriotic songs, and honor our CCA Military Families.
If you have served in any branch of the military, past or present, please join us for this special morning of worship. We appreciate your service and want to say, “Thank you!”
