Principal's Corner

Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise! Give thanks to him; bless his name!

Psalm 100:4

Dear Parents,

Thanksgiving is coming this week, ready or not! Whether you plan to gather with family or friends to enjoy a special meal or a typical one, there is much for which to be thankful. At CCA, we will gather on Wednesday to praise and thank God for our many blessings. Through good times, and hardship, He is with us. We can most certainly be thankful for our loving God.

We are mindful that the holidays can bring their own kind of stress, especially when times are tough. Many families rely on much-needed food items to meet their daily needs. When a holiday like Thanksgiving approaches, the needs become even greater and stress grows.

For several years, we have partnered with Prince of Peace and First Baptist Church to provide for families in need during the holidays. What began at Prince of Peace, serving a couple hundred families, has now grown into a full-blown food ministry serving over 1000!

The original goal this year was to feed 950 families in the area. On Friday, our high schoolers traveled to First Baptist Church to help load and deliver Thanksgiving meals for 1054 families! I took lunch to them and was pleased to see how joyfully they served. They worked hard, and all those who coordinate this effort told me how much they appreciated their efforts.

You can see the goodwill and teamwork in the pictures below. Thanks to all in our school community who donated to this effort through chapel offerings. We were able to raise over $700 to help fund food items for families!

In Christ,
