Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends.
John 15:13
Dear Parents,
On November 11, we commemorate Veterans Day with a day off from school. On Wednesday, November 12, we will recognize our CCA veterans and active military families in our all-school chapel beginning at 8:40 a.m.
This is an opportunity for us to say thank you to all of our families who have sacrificed so much to serve our country. Military life is challenging and rewarding, but certainly not easy. Those who serve must go where they are needed, sometimes on very short notice. They go willingly and without question because they know their mission is to serve to the best of their abilities. Their families serve right along with them, often traveling all over the world. While many of our students have said it is difficult to move as often as they must, they are resolute in their commitment to support their loved ones and know it’s part of the job.
We can be most grateful for those who hear the call to serve, as they keep our country free and allow us to live the lives we have in America. We know that freedom isn’t free. Our freedom is secured by all those who actively serve, have previously served, or sacrificed their lives to keep America strong.
We invite you to attend our worship on Wednesday. We will praise and thank God, honor all those who serve, and personally recognize all military families who can attend that morning.
In Christ,
Sherrie Gibelyou

Our students enjoyed October 31 filled with lots of fun activities. Grades 3-8 went to Tower Lanes Entertainment Center, where they enjoyed bowling and mini golf. Students in Grades K-2 enjoyed many special classroom activities, including Bingo, special pumpkin-themed STEM projects, and counting pumpkin seeds from a GIANT pumpkin (31 lbs. and 499 seeds; see below)! Our students were very excited to participate in all the day had to offer. Even our high schoolers got in on the fun with a pumpkin carving contest!
Our high school cross country team is on their way to the state competition. Coached by 6th Grade Teacher, Nathaniel Gray, this is the first time we’ve had a cross country team since 2016, and the first time we’ve had state meet participants since 2012! Congratulations Tariq and Hudson, who qualified to move on this weekend. Go Hawks!

Concordia Christian Academy received a grant from the Puyallup Tribe that is designated to be used for a community event, so Concordia and Good Shepherd Lutheran Church will be working together to support a number of families from Fawcett Elementary for Christmas.
On Monday, November 24, an ‘Angel Christmas Tree’ will be in the entryway of the 100 and 300 buildings. You can support the effort by selecting a gift tag for something you can purchase to donate as a gift for a student at Fawcett Elementary. Along with the physical gifts for the students, each family will receive a food basket. We welcome donations to this as well.
All items, including monetary donations, will need to be turned into the high school or elementary school offices by Wednesday, December 10.
