For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.
2 Timothy 1:7
Dear Parents,
The balance between Law and Gospel is essential at Concordia. We aim to be recognized as a “grace place” with Christian values. Therefore, we uphold, model, and teach these five school standards:
Respect the purpose of Concordia Christian Academy. This school exists so we may know about Jesus Christ and the life we want to live in response to His great love. Therefore, we choose to honor God by showing reverence for Him, His name, and His Word in our daily thoughts, words, and actions.
Respect the learning process. We want to ensure that the teaching and learning process proceeds smoothly and that students maintain a conducive learning environment in the classroom, while also caring for others at school.
Respect authority. We want to follow the directions of those God has placed over us for our well-being. By honoring those in authority, we honor God.
Respect people. God has commanded us to love one another unconditionally. We want to demonstrate our love for others in our thoughts, words, and actions.
Respect property. We are protective and caring of school property and the property of others.
The five standards are the foundation for all expected school behavior, and they are posted in every classroom. Whenever a problem arises, we talk with our students to try to understand what happened.
Our conversations are designed to help kids understand what drives emotion and impulse, teach strategies to replace the actions related to poor impulse control, and give them a chance to make better choices. Mistakes happen; they only become problems if we refuse to correct them.
Communication is essential to us, and we spend a lot of time talking with students and families. We value the time we spend with your kids and believe consistent communication strengthens the success of each student in every classroom.
My door is always open. Please contact me with questions or concerns anytime up to 9 p.m.
In Christ,
Sherrie Gibelyou

New members were inducted into the National Honor Society by our current executive members on Tuesday evening, October 7. These high school students were invited to join the NHS, having met the criteria of scholarship, service, leadership, and character as defined by NHS standards. At CCA, we also value faith in Jesus and know that our faith is integrally woven through these pillars as they are demonstrated in life. We thank alumnus and CCA Board Member, Garett Cross, for delivering an inspirational keynote address.
